Hobby turned side-hustle turned full-time job, Urban Millworks is the result of the blood, sweat, tears, and more blood of Casey Cochran. A blend of art and furniture, the pieces that come out of the UM shop can be attributed to the people Casey was influenced by early in his life.

Born and raised in Southern California, his early years saw him surrounded by creative people right from the start. Whether is was "sculptures, furniture, clothes, houses, cars, music - someone was always creating something - the more I saw good, clean design the more I realized that function over form just isn't an option, it doesn't have to be that way".

Function over form just isn’t an option.

After lots of traveling and several years in corporate and non-profit marketing, he needed to start making things again. Casey moved to Oregon, bought a small farm and, shortly thereafter, Urban Millworks was born. Although always one to shy away from labels, he doesn't consider himself a "designer", but does have a lot of design ideas and like-minded clients he enjoys sharing them with.
